With more and more caps and gowns going across the stage each day, it's time to remove those graduating from the rankings and take a look at how each weight will shake up next year WITH the addition of some powerful incoming freshman
Keep in mind, these rankings are bound to change drastically before the 25-26 school year even starts. Please report any missed results, weight changes, or transfers to schwartzreportne@gmail.com or SchwartzReportNE on Instagram.

Coming in at the top spot is the 2025 New England finalist and NHSCA All-American No. 1 Antonie Jackman (Greater Lowell, MA). No. 2 Logan Costello (Ashland, MA) placed sixth at last year’s tournament. “Big” freshmen that can make a splash include No. 4 Noah Blair (Newtown, CT) who won 2024 Youth New Englands before being upset in 2025 before taking NHSCA All-American Honors. And No. 5 Chace Armstrong (Ponaganset, RI) who was also upset at Youth New Englands in March.
Some Massachusetts wrestlers also find themselves ranked: 2025 New England qualifiers No. 6 Alexavier Orellana (Woburn, MA) and No. 8 Conlan Geary (Hanover, MA). No. 12 Max Schvartsman (Burlington, MA),while not having qualified for New Englands, made a lot of noise during the season and has been continuing that into the spring/summer.

This weight class always seems like it ends up as one of the deepest. Defending champion at 120lbs No. 1 Lukas Boxley (Ledyard, CT) is the favorite. No. 3 Dante Giusti (Shawsheen Tech, MA) had a strong season last year but fell short at New Englands.
There are three additional returning New England placers here as well: No. 4 Cahota LaFond (Colchester, VT), No. 5 Mael Pierre-Paul (Bunnell, CT), and No. 8 Jude Grammatico (Fairfield Warde, CT). A couple of wrestlers that dealt with injuries towards the end of last season are back, too. Look for No. 3 Robby Newton (Scituate, RI) and No. 6 Jack Gedney (Lewis Mills, CT) to bust some brackets next season.

Only James Tildslsey (Shawsheen Tech, MA) can claim the No. 1 spot. The incoming senior did not allow a single match to go the full six minutes last year. No. 2 Antonio Arguello (Newtown, CT) has wrestled Tildsley closely in the past but was overwhelmed last season, can he get it done this year? No. No. 3 Colby Vital (Ponaganset, RI) and No. 4 Hudson Lufkin (Dirigo, ME) are strong competitors along with No. 6 Vincent Rivera (Xavier, CT) and No. 7 Matthew Patterson (Middleborough, MA).
No. 5 Riley Storozuk (Notre Dame-West Haven, CT) has notified the Schwartz Report that he will be transferring from East Hartford (CT).

No. 1 Carnell Davis (Ponaganset, RI) enters his junior year a two-time runner-up, there is no doubt he has nothing but gold on his mind this upcoming season. No. 2 Evan Schibi (Gilbert/Torrington, CT) and in-state foe No.3 Matthew Pappas (Bishop Hendricken, RI) seem to be some of the biggest threats. The top dog here once again, No. 1 David Perez (Ponaganset, RI) is another Chieftain looking for his third title. No. 2 Vincent DeMaio (Methuen, MA) should pose a strong threat, but he will have to deal with No. 3 Cyrus Jones (Sharon, MA) first. Jones, like many other talented wrestlers, missed out at last year’s New England’s. Jones suffered a concussion at the MIAA All-States. Some former-underclassmen are looking to take a big leap at this weight class, including No. 4 Abel Varzeas (West Springfield, MA), No. 5 Rhys Dewar (Central Catholic, MA), and No. 6 Chase Catalano (Xavier, CT).

Withut a doubt, No. 1 Max Konopka (Simsbury, CT) is one of the best wrestlers in the region. The only question is will he stay at 190lbs? No. 2 Caden Chase (Central Catholic, MA) is a star on the gridiron and the mat, and he will be one of Konopka’s challenges this year, along with fellow Massachusetts wrestlers No. 3 Fletcher Rinke (Bridgewater-Raynham, MA) and No. 4 Owen Pavao (Somerset-Berkley, MA).
Two underclassmen find themselves in the top 10. No. 8 Gian Richardson (Cranston West, RI) had an impressive freshman year and capped it off with NHSCA All-American honors. No. 9 Sam Josey (St. John’s Prep, MA), meanwhile, comes in as the second ranked wrestler in the class of 2029.

No. 2 Jackson Meehan (Central Catholic, MA) placed fourth at MIAA States last season. No. 4 Jackson Bowden (Scituate, RI) went 2-2 at last year’s New England tournament. Well, the reign of Thomas Brown is over. Coming in to claim the throne is No. 1 Kaz Morosetti (North Kingstown, RI). Morosetti is a 2x New England placer who took third last season.
