The 2026 New England Prep Tournament goes down this weekend at Greens Farms Academy in Westport, CT. Programs from all six New England states — plus a few New York schools — will be featured on Saturday in one of the region’s biggest events of the year.

Team Race Breakdown
Boys:
Greens Farms Academy (CT) comes in as the favorite. The Dragons have won every New England Prep Tournament since 2023, and once again, the target is on their back.
Trying to take down the Dragons are two programs that live on the national circuit: New York Military Academy (NY) and Northfield Mt. Hermon (MA). Both bring star-studded lineups. The big question is depth: can either NYMA or NMH stack enough points across the weights to upset the Dragons?
Schwartz’s Predicted Top Five:
Greens Farms Academy (CT) – 328
Northfield Mt. Hermon (MA) – 301
New York Military Academy (NY) - 295
Belmont Hill (MA) – 231
Brunswick (CT) – 112
Girls:
On the girls side, it’s a tale of the other titan — and Choate Rosemary Hall (CT) is the heavy favorite. Choate has five wrestlers ranked in Sports Illustrated’s Feb. 6 girls national rankings, the most of any New England school (boys or girls).
Phillips-Andover (MA) and Northfield Mt. Hermon (MA) always bring strong lineups along with St. Paul's (NH) who will also be in the mix. The question is whether anyone has enough depth behind their stars to close the gap on Choate.
Schwartz’s Predicted Top Five:
Choate Rosemary Hall (CT) – 188
Phillips-Andover (MA) – 125
Northfield Mt. Hermon (MA) – 114
St. Paul’s (NH) – 101
Phillips-Exeter (NH) – 88
BOYS WEIGHT-BY-WEIGHT PREVIEW
New England prep wrestling is as deep as it gets. Because of that, this region qualifies six wrestlers per weight to the National Prep Tournament at Lehigh University in Pennsylvania. Below is a weight-by-weight breakdown of the boys division, including the seeded wrestlers and The Schwartz Report’s predicted qualifiers. The rest of the field will be drawn randomly.

Another weight with premier talent. Only one of Jackson Heslin or Isaac Novod can win a third New England title this season. Johnny Green owns a win over Novod from the Bissell Invite, but Heslin beat Green in the finals there. Public school transfer Peter Rincan adds even more firepower.
Seeds:

2025 public school New England finalist Lance Bordeleau gets the 1-seed as he tries to win prep gold. Standing in his way is the No. 1 ranked wrestler Joe Mahoney, who is hunting title No. 2. Don’t sleep on Ellis, Moreno, or Lim either — this weight has real upset potential.

If all goes right, we get Jacobson vs. Consigli in the finals. Jacobson owns a quality transitive win, but when they’re on the same mat, that doesn’t mean much. Meltzer, Degl, and Assamanou are all capable of blowing things up.

I could just say “Konopka” and keep it moving. But give credit to Preston Burroughs — the sophomore was down at 175 earlier this season and is now making the leap to 215 as a (presumably) light heavyweight. Can he hold off Tyler Rebick, Konopka’s former Simsbury Trojan teammate? And don’t forget Konrad Kutt, Lerrod Smalls, and Cooper Lussier returning from injury. After gold, it’s anyone’s game.
Seeds:
Max Konopka (Greens Farms Academy, CT)
