Super 32 New England Recap

Every October, some of the best wrestlers in the country gather in Greensboro, North Carolina, for the most challenging folkstyle tournament in the country, Super 32.

This year, the Boy’s High School division featured nearly 200 of FloWrestling.com’s nationally ranked wrestlers and the Girls Division had over 150. The event started out as a local North Carolina tournament in the early 2000s but has since evolved to become THE toughest tournament in the country. For boys, it is to  folkstyle what Fargo is to freestyle while for girls, it's another tough event right up there with Fargo.

New England came away with nine total place winners, including, one champion

Girls:

Kayla Batres (Greens Farms Academy, CT) ‘27

106lbs

Champion

The sophomore’s greatness continues. Kayla Batres the No. 2 P4P ranked girl in New England keeps her tremendous high school career rolling with an extraordinary performance that grabbed her a Super 32 title.

Batres is the fourth champion from Connecticut and the first since 2017—when New Milford’s Joanne Ortiz won at the same weight class. The Greens Farms Academy wrestler went 4-0 in the tournament, outscored opponents 34-5, and had a 10-0 win in the second round over No. 6 P4P wrestler in New England Lily Runez (Choate Rosemary Hall, CT–Keene, NH)
