The prep scene is England has long been on the list of Nationally ranked best schools thanks to academic excellence. Now some of these schools are popping up on another list, too--that of National wrestling powerhouses. You can count Greens Farms Academy (CT), Northfield Mt. Hermon (MA), and New York Military Academy (NY) among them. After a long wait, the Schwartz Report is proud to expand its coverage to include a top five prep ranking! As the season goes on and more results come in, look for the list to expand.

No. 1 Brody Sayers (Belmont Hill, MA) takes the top spot after placing fourth last season as a freshman. New transfer No. 2 Aiden Morris (New York Military Academy, NY) looks to be a top contender as does No. 3 Evan Gray (Eagle Hill, CT) who won the Brunswick Invitational (CT) and is 1-1 having won the most recent match against No. 4 Eli Shea (Greens Farms Academy, CT).

Super 32 placer No. 1 Julian Rios (Phillips-Andover Academy, MA) looks to be the favorite here, especially after a bronze medal finish at the Beast of the East (DE).


No. 2 Brighton Karvoski (Greens Farms Academy, CT) was the runner-up to Rios at last year’s New England Tournament and came in sixth at Nationals. No. 3 Landon Herdic (New York Military Academy, NY) is a transfer from public school Norwich Free Academy (CT) and was a round away from placing at the public school New England tournament.

Drexel-commit No. 2 Oumar Tounkara (New York Military Academy, NY) is a Super 32, Fargo, and Beast of the East placer and looks to add the titles of New England and National prep champion to his resume,but first he has to get past No. 1 Issac Novod (Belmont Hill, MA). Novod placed sixth at prep Nationals in 2024 and BEAT Tounkara 

earlier this season at a tri-meet hosted by Northfield Mt. Hermon.

No. 1 Jackson Heslin (Greens Farms Academy, CT) enters as the favorite after finishing fourth at Nationals last season. No. 2 Dylan Kadish (Northfield Mt. Hermon, MA) is a strong threat after a great career at Newton South High School (MA).


No. 3 Scotty Moreau (Belmont Hill, MA) has a tremendously inspring story. Always a force on the New England circuit, he missed last season after suffering a stroke leaving him blind in one eye. Now, almost a year later, he is already back on the mat and winning matches.

Beast of the East placer and NHSCA champion No. 1 Musa Tamaradze (New York Military Academy, NY) takes the top spot here. No. 2 Brady Kaupp (Greens Farms Academy, CT) won prep New England’s last season in overtime over No. 3 Jack Dragoumanos (Belmont Hill, MA) who ended up placing sixth at prep Nationals.

A strong transfer from New Fairfield High School (CT), No. 1 Joe Mahoney (Greens Farms Academy, CT) was a three-time public school New England placer and looks to add a prep New England title to that resume as well.


No. 2 Anthony Basile (Northfield Mt. Hermon, MA) is an interesting case. He is a two-time public Connecticut state finalist but got injured in last year’s match and has yet to return to the mat. Nevertheless, there is no doubt that when he does he will be a problem for any opponent.


This weight class has another transfer in No. 3 Charlie Lussier (St. Paul’s NH), who was the runner-up at 120lbs for Whitman-Hanson (MA) at public New Englands.

A tough choice here but in the regional rankings, Defending prep New England champion No. 1 Ben Zuckerman (Greens Farms Academy, CT) claims the top rank here. Following him is No. 2 Andrew McCarthey (New York Military Academy, NY), an NHSCA All-American from Mt. Hope High School (RI). These two have not faced yet and it is sure to be electric when they meet.


No. 3 Andrew Pimental (Belmont Hill, MA) recently got the come-from-behind win against No. 4 Colby Houle (Northfield Mt. Hermon, MA) in a dual. No. 5 Maurice Ellis (Hopkins, CT) is another strong competitor.

2024 New England prep runnerup No. 1 Nate Consigli (Northfield Mt. Hermon, MA) looks to get gold this season. Hot on his trail is public transfer No. 2 Shea Morris (New York Military Academy, NY). Morris was wrestling at 138lbs earlier this season at Haverhill High School (MA) and was a 2024 public New England placer. Connecticut’s No. 3 Will Motley (Greens Farms Academy, CT) rounds out the top three.

Ranked in the top10 Nationally in nearly every big publication, No. 1 Liam Carlin (Greens Farms Academy, CT) looks to add a prep National title to his long list of accolades. No. 2 Seth Digby (Northfield Mt. Hermon, MA) is a University of Maryland-commit and was an Illinois state runner-up in 2024.


No. 3 Tyler Fromm (Trinity Pawling, NY) and No. 4 Jack Degl (Brunswick, CT) are some foes that look to topple the two titans. Degl won the Brunswick invitational over the weekend.

This one was hard. No. 1 Ben Smith (New York Military Academy, NY) and No. 2 Elliot Humphries (Northfield Mt. Hermon, MA) are 1-1 against each other on the year with Humphries grabbing the most recent victory. However, Smith’s freestyle win over the Fargo runner-up is enough to give him the nudge ahead.


No. 3 Declan Bligh (Roxbury Latin, MA) is no slouch whatsoever, the Ireland 17u National team member took third last year at prep New Englands. No. 4 Tyler Nevia (Greens Farms Academy, CT) is a transfer from Trumbull High School (CT) and was a public New England qualifier.

Two Ivy League commits take the top spots. Harvard-commit No. 1 Dylan Greenstein (Northfield Mt. Hermon, MA) placed second at prep New England’s last year and recently placed fourth at the Beast of the East tournament. Columbia-commit No. 2 Kingston Daniels-Silva (Greens Farms Academy, CT) looks to challenge Greenstein after placing eighth at prep Nationals at 175lbs in 2024. 


No. 3 Soren Reif (The Canterbury School, CT) is a transfer from Killingly High School (CT) and No. 4 Tyler Rebick (Avon Old Farms, CT) is a transfer from Simsbury High School (CT). No. 5 Myles Beckett (Belmont Hill, MA) rounds out the top five.
