Some recent results bring us a NEW No. 1 wrestler in ALL OF New England: Isael Perez (Northfield Mt. Hermon, MA) recently took out national top-5 wrestler Elijah Diakikilahis at the Bison Tyrant Duals. This win should propel Perez into a top-10 position in the national media’s eyes.

His teammate, No. 2 James Bechter (Northfield Mt. Hermon, MA), moves up after defeating South Dakota Wrestler Micah Hatch. Hatch previously beat No 3 Thomas Brown (Chelmsford, MA) at NHSCA Nationals.

No. 5 Ben Smith (New York Military Academy, NY) moves up and is currently the highest-ranked New England Wrestler in Willie Saylor’s (MatScouts) national rankings sitting at No. 8.

Another NYMA wrestler makes his debut in these rankings: No. 11 Oumar Tounkara (New York Military, NY) will be transferring to the New England Prep School. He is an NHSCA Junior National Champion.

No.18 Brady Kaupp (Greens Farms Academy, CT) moves up after a win over No. 25 Yandel Morales (Andover, MA).

 

Two freshmen have been added to the mix: No. 33 Jaxson Bailey (Greens Farms Academy, CT) recently won the USA Wrestling Triple Crown, winning folkstyle, freestyle, and Greco-Roman national tournaments. No. 49 John Woodall (Franklin, MA) will be fun to watch the next few years. He’s a 2x youth New England champion and has multiple NHSCA All-American honors including a finals appearance.
